Step 1: picture day!
I had a blast meeting all your little ones. Whether they were full or giggles or feeling shy, I’m sure I’ve got some beautiful portraits to share with you soon.
Step 2: online ordering
No more pre-order picture forms! An email with the link to the gallery will be sent approximately 2-3 weeks after the last picture day - please check your inbox and check back here in a couple weeks. Each child will have 3-5 images to choose from and you only order the images that you like best. Both print and digital options are available.
step 3: download or pick up
If you order digital images, you will be sent a link to download those images to your personal computer to share and print however you’d like. If you order prints, they will be delivered directly to the school within 3-4 weeks of the order deadline for pickup. It’s that simple!
What about siblings?
Sibling Day was a great success! If you were able to attend, there will a special album in the gallery titled “Sibling Day” and your family’s albums will be in there.
If you were unable to make it to Sibling Day, I do still have a few family session times available this fall. Please click the Family Sessions button below to see the remaining dates and times. The time is yours so it can be used a full family session or just for outdoor portraits of the kids. You can always email me at photography@maggiemcc.com with questions.
FAQ
What happens on Picture Day?
I’ll spend approximately 1-3 minutes with each child helping them to relax and have fun with the session. This is the part that I genuinely enjoy - watching their personalities shine. I have lots of tricks up my sleeves to elicit some genuine expressions but “say cheese” is never one of them. Whether they are giggly & goofy or quiet & shy, these images aim to capture the beauty of who they are in that moment.
How many pictures will I see?
Unlike traditional school photos, this time you will have choices. Each child will get a gallery of 3-5 images in both color and black and white. You get to choose which ones you want to order!
What are the order deadlines?
Gallery opens for viewing and ordering approximately 2 weeks after Picture Day.
Print order deadline will be about one week after the gallery opens. Don’t worry, reminders will be sent before they close. However, please know that all print orders must be placed before that deadline.
The gallery will remain open for an additional week for Digital Orders only.
Exact dates will be posted and communicated after Picture Day.
Why do you ask for my email address?
Once you have clicked the “View Gallery” button, you will be asked for your email address to enter the gallery. Requiring an email address allows the software to save your favorites and your cart until you are ready to order. The email address you provide will be used to send you the link to download digital images if you choose to purchase any. Your email address is only used for purchases and updates related to this gallery and you will not receive any other emails from me, unless requested.
What is the cost?
The packages and individual items for purchase are priced with affordability in mind. There is no obligation to purchase and no orders or payments will be accepted in advance. As a bonus, a percentage of the revenue is actually donated right back to your school! To see the full product list for your school, click here.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
As a mom of four myself, I know how quickly things add up! I’m happy to offer a discount on full digital album purchases. If you purchase the full album of digital images for one child, all additional siblings’ digital albums will be $10 off. This discount is automatically applied at checkout. This discount is only available for digital album purchases and does not apply to packages or prints.
What about class photos and Memory Mates?
Class Photos will be taken outside on the same day as your scheduled Picture Day, weather permitting. Memory Mates are a wonderful St. Matthew’s School tradition. If you choose to purchase a Memory Mate, you will receive an 8x10 print that includes your choice of a single image of your child as well as your child’s class photo. An example is shown here.
How do I order?
All orders are completed online through a professional and secure site. First, navigate to your child’s album of images. Once you have selected an image, you will see a black “Buy Photo” button either underneath the image or in the top right corner. Clicking on that button will show you all of the options available for purchase including packages, individual prints, and digital images. How do I order a package?
First, navigate to your child’s album of images. You can find the packages in two places. One is the “Buy Package” button at the top right corner of your child’s album. Second is by clicking on the image that you would like, then choosing the “Buy Photo” button just underneath the image. Select the package that you are interested in purchasing then select the image that you would like for that package before adding to your cart. The prints for each package are for a single image only.
How do I order digital images?
To order digital images for your child, please click on the image that you would to purchase. In the upper right hand corner or beneath the image, click on the black “Buy Photo” button, then choose the Digitals category. You can choose either the Single Full Resolution for $29 or Full Resolution for All Photos in the Album for $75. Choosing the All Album photos option for $75 means that you are purchasing all of the images in both color and black & white that are currently in that child’s album. It is not possible to combine photos from different albums into a new album.
How are prints and digitals delivered?
Digital orders are delivered via an email link. Once you have completed checkout, you will be sent an email with a link to download all images purchased. Because the files are large, they will likely download initially as a zip file so I highly recommend downloading to a computer and not a mobile device at first. Please download all images before midnight on the day the gallery closes. A fee of $10 will be required in order to reopen the gallery for additional downloads.
Print orders will be delivered to the school approximately 3-4 weeks after the order deadline for easy pickup or distribution.
Do you offer retakes?
This year, because of logistics constraints, there will not be a Retake Day available. If you know ahead of time that you will be away on your child’s scheduled date, you can sign up for a slot on Sibling Day the Saturday before picture week. Do you offer retouching?
Each image chosen for the gallery will be edited and slightly retouched as needed before being ready to view. No scars, freckles, or other birthmarks will be touched but if a stray piece of lunch was never wiped away, that will be removed before viewing. If additional or more extensive retouching is requested (such as stray hairs or large bruises), please send me an email before ordering so we can discuss the extent of the edits requested and I can provide you with a quote for the retouching fee.
I purchased the digitals and printed at a different printer. Why do they look different?
Color and light can be a tricky thing in photography. Every device reads and displays color just a little differently. This is why the images may look slightly different on your cell phone than they do on a computer. This is true with printers as well. My images are calibrated so that I can guarantee that the printer I work with will print them exactly as I see them. Other printers will “read” the color information in the image just a little differently so they may end up printing lighter or darker or more red or more yellow, etc. I can only guarantee color and quality of prints that have been ordered directly through me for this reason.
