So, how did you get started?

While I’ve always had a desire to document memories, my passion for photography really arrived with the birth of my children. I wanted to be sure to capture the joy and chaos that come with kids, especially in those early years. I admittedly have a bit of a terrible memory, which is why these images, for me, are so precious. I strive to really capture the NOW - to freeze their little faces, just as they are, in all of their authentic, unique beauty - and I feel honored that now I can offer this same opportunity to so many other families.

So, you’re a lifestyle photographer? What does that even mean?

Basically, it means no flashes, no extra lighting, no elaborate props or orchestrated backdrops. There are photographers out there who do that so beautifully already. My desire is to capture life as it is: meaningful, beautiful, fun, messy, perfectly imperfect. Connection and emotion are more important to me than perfection. I want to capture the way your little one holds on to your finger or how your preschooler likes to run circles around you or how your teenager shies away from hugs (but can’t quite hide the smile completely). It also means that you will have a gallery of images where kids are running and hugging … and sometimes smiling directly at the camera but not always. Don’t worry, we’ll work to get at least a couple good “all-smiling-at-the-camera-at-the-same-time” images but mostly, we’re going to have some fun!

Where will my session be held?

Since I am a natural light, on-location photographer (no studios for me), sessions can be held in all kinds of places. I have some proven favorites (Valley Forge Park, Norristown Farm Park, Longwood Gardens - the most well known) but I love exploring new places too. Let’s meet at your favorite outdoor spot or even in the comfort of your own home. We’ll work together to choose the location that best matches your needs. Some locations do require a special permit and fee in advance.

when are sessions held?

The best time by far for outdoor sessions is during “golden hour” which is the hour before sunset. The light at this time of the day is just magic! Of course, we can always adjust to what works for your family but keep in mind that light is so important to get those dreamy images. It really does make all the difference!

What should I wear?

Be comfortable (weather-appropriate). Be yourself. If your toddler hates jeans right now, don’t bother forcing the issue. The session will be so much more fun and successful if everyone feels good! I do recommend staying away from neon colors, really bold stripes or clothing with words or large logos. You, your loved ones, and the connections you share should be the stars of the image. I am more than happy to chat with you if this is a big concern for you though! Pinterest is my favorite spot for inspiration!

When and how will i get to see my images?

Within 3-4 weeks of your session, you will receive a link to a private online gallery of hand selected and edited images from our time together. You will typically have one month to order any prints and to download the high resolution digital images that are included in the session fee. You will also be able to share that gallery with friends and family, if you want.

digital downloads are included?

Yep! I like to keep things simple and easy. Included in your session fee is access to download all of the delivered images as high resolution files. The “how-to” details are included when you receive the link to your gallery. They are yours to keep and share and use for personal purposes. You also have the option to purchase prints and products directly through me. Please know that I can only guarantee color and quality from prints and products ordered through me. Every printer “reads” colors a little differently so it is always possible that a print may end up looking different than what you see on the screen but I can always stand by the prints from the labs that I have chosen to work with.
