 A mini session is great if ….

• you know you want just a couple of good photos of the family and you can go with the flow of a faster paced session

• you have kids that are generally cooperative and won’t need much time to warm up to the camera

• you are totally cool with the kids just being themselves even if that means they might not smile or might be a little camera-shy during that short time span. I always work for happy faces but sometimes 15 minutes just isn’t enough time to make that happen.

• you are confident that you can arrive on time and the family will be ready to go for those quick 15 minutes we are together

• you don’t have your heart set on golden hour photos since mini sessions typically happen in the afternoon.

• you don’t have a specific location in mind and find that the location and theme of the planned session fits perfectly with your style

You’re better off with a full session if …

• you have a longer, more specific set of images in mind (i.e. each kid alone, kids together, mom+kids) which cannot be accomplished in the short 15 minute session.

• you want to include extended family members like grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc.

• you have kids who are more on the shy side or even the rambunctious side. Over the course of a 60 minute session, there’s plenty of time for kids to either warm up to the camera or burn off some energy before sitting for a nice family pose.

• you know it’s next to impossible to get your crew out the door on time or you have a tight family schedule, because of nap times or sports, where you just can’t make it to the few mini session times available.

• you really want to have your photos done at a specific location that is meaningful to you like Valley Forge or your backyard.

What is Primstone farm?

Primstone Farm is a beautiful, residential property in Schwenksville, PA. The owners are thrilled to welcome guests and love seeing how their property can bring joy to families. Guests will be able to view the chickens in their adorable craftsmen chicken coop as well as visit the newest additions to the clan - Olive & Lucy, the most adorable baby cows around. A visit to the refurbished vintage camper for some apple cider and s’mores kits for those who wish to purchase them. Then you can just sit by the bonfire for some fun (& Covid-safe) outdoor family time.

What does the mini-session include?

Your session will last 15 minutes - a perfect amount of time to have some fun and capture a few Christmas Card-worthy photos. Your session includes the high resolution digital downloads of 5 images edited in both color and black/white.

Where will my session be held?

We will have the fantastic vintage chevy (as pictured) as well as the beautiful grassy field surrounded by trees. When you arrive on the property, you’ll first see a red barn with the bonfire area all set up for you. We will then take the short walk to the back of the property where the truck will be nestled into the picture perfect scenery.

when are sessions held?

Sessions are open starting at 2:40pm on Saturday November 13th. You must book a session in advance. You are welcome to arrive early and stay later after your session to enjoy the wonderful property, visit the cows, and make some s’mores by the bonfire!

What if it rains?

A little sprinkle won’t stop us but pouring rain will! In the event that the sessions cannot be held, we will transfer all sessions to a weekend in November (exact date TBD if necessary). There will be plenty of communication but let’s just keep our fingers crossed that we have another year of fantastic weather!

What if I get sick or have to cancel?

All sessions require a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure your day and time. In the event that you absolutely must cancel, that retainer cannot be refunded but you may transfer your session to another family with advance notice to the photographer.

What should I wear?

Be comfortable (weather-appropriate). Be yourself. If your toddler hates jeans right now, don’t bother forcing the issue. The session will be so much more fun and successful if everyone feels good! I do recommend staying away from neon colors, really bold stripes or clothing with words or large logos. You, your loved ones, and the connections you share should be the stars of the image. I am more than happy to chat with you if this is a big concern for you though! Pinterest is my favorite spot for inspiration!

When and how will i get to see my images?

Within 2-3 weeks of your session, you will receive a link to a private online gallery of hand selected and edited images from our time together. You will then have two weeks to download your high resolution digital images that are included in the session fee as well as to order any prints or gifts if you’d like.

digital downloads are included?

Yep! I like to keep things simple and easy. Included in your session fee is access to download your choice of 5 images as high resolution files. In the event that your gallery has more than 5 images, you can also choose to purchase additional images for $25 an image.

The “how-to” details for downloading are included when you receive the link to your gallery. They are yours to keep and share and use for personal purposes. You also have the option to purchase prints and products directly through me. Please know that I can only guarantee color and quality from prints and products ordered through me. Every printer “reads” colors a little differently so it is always possible that a print may end up looking different than what you see on the screen but I can always stand by the prints from the labs that I have chosen to work with.

How are we staying safe?

Oh Covid. Ugh. Your safety is a top-priority. I will be keeping a safe distance during our session and wearing a mask if necessary. The truck will be available and decorated for sitting and standing near but if you have any particular props like a blanket you’d like to snuggle under or a cute Christmas sign that you’d like to hold, you are free to bring those from home. This will be a no-contact session so I will be posing you and the kids through verbal coaching only. I’m not worried - having done sessions like this for nearly two years now - so you shouldn’t be either. When not having your pictures taken, please follow all current Covid-safety guidelines whatever they may be at the time. Since the event is entirely outdoors, however, this should not be a problem.
