So, how is this different?

I like to describe it as a more sophisticated approach to school photography. I offer authentic & artistic images of the children in your school by using simple backdrops, natural lighting, and a kid-friendly approach to elicit genuine expressions that showcase each kid’s uniquely beautiful personality. Parents love that these images are unique, clean and authentic. These are the images they will print to proudly display in their homes or share with loved ones. Kids love that I don’t use big scary lighting equipment and that I’m willing to be goofy and bring funny toys to help them feel comfortable. Schools love that the photo day is simple and all orders are done online without envelopes to distribute or collect.

what does this cost?

For schools, there is absolutely NO cost. In fact, a percentage of the revenue will be donated right back to you. For parents, the packages and individual items for purchase are priced with affordability in mind. There is no obligation for parents to purchase and no orders or payments will be accepted in advance. Price lists are available upon request but individual items start at just $15.

What does the school have to do?

Depending on the total number of students, ages and your school’s schedule, we may need to book more than one day for sessions. We will work together to determine day(s) and the exact class schedules for those day(s) as well so as to minimally disrupt the normal daily rhythm of your school. Once the dates have been set, schools have very little to do other than communicating the picture date(s) to your families. I will ask to tour the school once before Picture Day in order to determine the best location to set up. I simply need a space with some good natural light – this could be a room with a large window or even an outdoor location in the shade. I also ask schools to provide class rosters (used to keep picture day organized) and parent email addresses (used solely for communications regarding your school’s Picture Day – never for any other marketing purposes).

What’s the timeline for orders?

Images are available for viewing approximately 2-3 weeks after Picture Day. Parents will be emailed a link to an online gallery for the school. Each class will have their own album which can be password protected if requested. Parents will view, order and make payments directly through that site. Galleries remain open for approximately 2 weeks and reminders will be sent to parents before they close. All orders must be placed before that deadline. Late orders will be subject to additional fees. Digital orders are delivered immediately via email once purchased. Prints and canvases will be dropped off at school approximately 3 weeks after the galleries have closed for easy pickup or distribution.

Do you offer retakes?

Retakes are school specific. I’m happy to schedule a single make-up day for students who are absent on Picture Day. 

Do you offer class photos?

Absolutely! Schools can choose for the individual photos to be organized into a traditional composite image OR we can take group photos of each class or homeroom. If class photos are offered, schools can choose to sell those images separately or decide on a minimum order amount after which a class photo is included. Digital images of the class photos are only available to the school if needed for yearbook purposes.

Do you offer faculty & staff photos?

Of course! I offer complimentary faculty/staff portraits to all schools that book sessions with me. These portraits can be taken on the same day as the students or on a separately scheduled day. I will provide the digital images to the school to be used for the yearbook, staff IDs or the school website. Faculty and staff who may wish to order prints of those images are offered a 25% discount.
