Summer is such a great time for lifestyle family photography sessions – the long days, the sun kissed faces, and the beautiful sunsets. Not to mention the stunning greens all around, especially after the torrential downpours we’ve had recently.
So, I was extra excited for this fun family session the other week. We met at Marsh Creek State Park in that golden hour before the sun dips behind the trees. I had forgotten what a beautiful tucked away that spot that place is. My husband and I actually had our wedding portraits taken there but I had yet to do a session of my own. I’m so glad we did. Even with all the people still there soaking up the sun, we found so many beautiful secluded nooks.
The kids, especially the oldest, were naturally shy and unsure of me at the start but by the end of the night they were shouting out their own ideas for poses and locations. We even stayed so late talking that the Park Ranger kicked us out. The location and light only helped to enhance the beautiful dynamics of this family. The love is obvious between all of them – even brother and sister willingly posed together for some sweet images. I’m honored that this family welcomed me in to their little circle so I could capture them just as they are.
